When the light bulb comes on!

Teachers usually say this about children when they finally get a concept we are trying desperately to teach them.  But in my case, it’s the summer and there is no teaching going on.  Being off today from Y camp where I play during the summer months, I realized a lot of things.  1.  That writing is a dream of mine and has been for a while (thanks Ashley Webb).  2.  That it is ok to write when I want to and about what I want to (thanks Holly Myers). I made myself believe that it would just happen and I would just sit down to write and great things would ‘pop’ out of my head and everyone would love it and love me!  WRONG!  I have written blogs, but very few people read them and I feel I’m doing them a favor.

As an ordinary person who lives and extra-ordinary life (because I have Jesus), I have lots of struggles and made lots of mistakes and live paycheck to paycheck.  I have lots of stories to share, ones that can’t be put into a book (that would take forever).  I just love kids and I love Jesus!  I just want people to come to know how special HE is in my life and how special HE can be in theirs.  I want you to feel his love for you and know that you matter to me and to HIM.

I write this blog for you and me.  I learn a lot through my writing, especially when I am writing a lesson to teach kids at church.  I know, I know, mind of a child. But HE speaks to me through the lesson and yeah, “the light bulb comes on”!  HE is probably saying, “I love her and it’s about time”  I’m sure HE is celebrating!

I have struggles that would make a goat stop eating grass, roll over and cry real tears!  But Jesus did not say as his followers, we wouldn’t have any troubles.  Sometimes things just happen, sometimes I do things to myself by making wrong choices and sometimes I am being tested or being made stronger through Christ Jesus!  Whatever the reason, my life is incredibly funny and interesting.  John 16:33  “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

I encourage you to stay tuned in and my prayer is to be a help to you and your situation, to lift/carry your load of troubles, or at least for you to enjoy some humor in your life through all of mine.

Remember you are God’s, HE loves you, HE created you, HE wants you, HE pursues you!  YOU ARE LOVED!

2 Corinthians 4:17

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
